If you scan this blog with anything more than a lo-res scanner, with one eye on my noodling and another on your download queue or your Facebook likes, I commend you for your faith in me because I'm testing it, I know, with the longest series of gently insignificant stories since the Pyongyang Times was founded.
Now see here's the thing. Like Ringo Starr said about Sentimental Journey, his first solo album, I'm doing it for my mother. And my family, who can check on what I'm up to.
I cannot put my heart and soul into this blogging business at present because a; it's quiet round here, b; my other projects are taking up my time. I was working on my novel yesterday and I laughed out loud at something I wrote and then I thought, this is what my blog readers should be reading! (Maybe I will leak some down the line somewhere).
Besides the novel, I've recently been able to start work again on the long and winding ghost documentary and continued to hone the film script and attended to other projects. Like Apple, I've got dozens that may never see the light of day. (One of the least likely is a self-help CD for the mentally fragile. I'd like to tell you the title but some swine will probably nick it, which would seem to question the risk-assessment implied in the phrase 'scattering pearls before swine.')
Something had to give, and it had to be the blog because I'm already seeing it like BR saw the Advanced Passenger Train, an ill-fated project one should dismantle, salvaging what one can. Apparently the APT bogeys ended up in the Pendolino. If you read the novel you might recognise the odd bogey from this blog, I don't currently think I will publish the blog itself for 10 pence on Amazon with all the censored bits put in. But I will continue, as planned, 'til at least the end of June for the sake of you early adopters.
So hold tight, congregation. The calm winds of a new semester have becalmed our blog a little, but there are rocks and squalls ahead. Soon Joe and I will start filming again, at some point the school are either going to fire me or offer to extend my contract and I must also decide what I want to do. You shall be the first to know. Donald should be coming next week, I'm seeing Mildrid in April. If you read this blog and comment I can respond to your concerns.
